THINGS WILL NEVER BE THE SAME
My friends: It’s been a year of tremendous highs and frightening lows but the music carried on in my home as it always does; and what fine music there has been!
My list of music that moved me has been boiled down to 50 tracks and prepared as a mix that spans just over 3 hours. I’ve split it into two servings [Side A & B] to make it less cumbersome and easier to digest.
Please download it and and enjoy. If the music moves you make sure you get out and spend some duckets on it in 2012. Buy it; go to shows; buy merch—artists need you!
Download part one Here.
The second side of the mix can be got Here.
If you happen to be on Rdio [which I realize is statistically improbable] you can find a nearly identical version of this mix in playlist form Here.
Peace…
Adrianne Koteen’s “Snaps, claps and whistles” playlist is like a summer enhancer. If you already have summer it enhances it—-if you don’t it actually may create it. Check it—crank it.
This six-part BBC documentary, The Genius of Photography, is thoroughly excellent and all viewable for free on YouTube; double excellence.
One of the many highlights is an interview with Colin Wood, the subject of Diane Arbus’ Child With Toy Hand Grenade in Central Park, 40 some-odd years later. Wood reflects on the person he was back then and speculates on what Arbus may have seen in him.

One of my favourite all-time Aphex Twin songs, Alberto Balsalm, Arranged by Ben Wallace for the CCM (College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati)
